OCD - Obsessive compunction disorder
If you are considering this program, you may well have some thoughts and behaviours which not only confuse those around you, but also yourself.
This program does NOT use the mainstream treatment of CBT to help you gain control of your behaviours. You will not be developing carefully structured processes, nor will you be expected to gradually increase your exposure to whatever you may be finding difficult to deal with.
Instead, the program has been developed around the 'Rewind' process which is used for treating many forms of emotional distress, not just OCD. By using this program you will be able to calm down past distressing experiences which may be at the root of your condition, After doing this, if you still have your OCD then you will learn how to use the same processes to reduce it's effect on you.
Of course no one form of therapy will work for everyone, but you have absolutely nothing to loose by trying this different approach. This is not a form of self-learning, it is active treatment.
It doesn't matter which form of OCD you are struggling with. If you have such behaviours you are in emotional distress and the treatment program is designed to resolve that distress after which your behaviour should disappear.
The program is in two parts.
Firstly, you watch a 30 minute video in which I will not only describe how you are likely to feel and behave when the OCD thoughts or behaviour are troubling you, but I will also explain how you you will learn to calm yourself down and focus your powerful unconscious mind on doing everything it can do to help you resolve this.
Then, the second video which also lasts for approximately 30 minutes, contains the active treatment. In this video, after watching five minutes of introduction, you will be asked to close your eyes and simply listen to my voice as I run through several simple processes which you should find helpful. This video should be used at least three times - preferably with a week or so between each use.
When re-using the video, you can skip to about 6 minutes in to find where the active treatment begins.
If you feel the program is helping, and you would like to use it more often, there is no harm in this, although your objective is to learn the techniques for yourself and use them whenever they are most relevant without needing the video.
